09.May.12 Brave Claire finishes Virgin London Marathon in robotic suit
Sixteen days ago Claire Lomas started the Virgin London Marathon, and yesterday, thanks to a pioneering robotic suit, she was able to finish the 26.2 mile course despite being paralysed from the chest down.
Claire was injured in an eventing accident in 2007 but the hi tech suit, which she is the first person in the UK use, made it possible for her to do the unthinkable.
The suit allows her to be her usual height and, as well as being very useful in her rehab, it also has numerous health benefits such as improving bone density, circulation and digestion.
Claire was the last of the 36,000 people who started the marathon. She walked the marathon for Spinal Research and has already raised more than £110,000 thanks to her inspiring story attracting huge media attention.

Well done Claire!
